2024 TURKISH PHYSICAL SOCIETY AWARDS
1- The name of the Award, which will be given every year, starting in 2008 , to our respected physicists who have stood out with their scientific research, supported young people and made significant contributions and services to the physical science of our country; 2024 TURKISH PHYSICAL SOCIETY HONOR AWARD . Members of the Board of Directors, Auditing and Honor Board of the Turkish Physical Society and Heads of Physics Departments of our Universities can nominate candidates for the Turkish Physics Society Honor Award. The winner of the award will be given a plaque and award certificate by the Turkish Physics Association.
2- Starting from 2008, Prof. has served the science of physics every year. Dr. It has decided to give an award in memory of Engin ARIK . Prof. Dr. Engin ARIK fought for the development of physics, especially high energy physics, in our country and became a guide for young physicists. Prof. Dr. The name of the Award to be given in the name of Engin ARIK; 2024 TURKISH PHYSICAL SOCIETY PROF. DR. ENGİN ARIK SCIENTIST AWARD . Prof. Dr. The award, created in memory of Engin ARIK, is for people over the age of 35 who have distinguished themselves with their education and research. It is intended for physicists. Relevant Faculty Deanships or Physics Department Heads may nominate candidates for the award. Additionally, candidates can apply for the award themselves.

Prof. Dr. The award, created in memory of Şevket ERK, is given to individuals who have stood out with their education and research and who have not exceeded the age of 35. It is intended for young physicists.
4- The name of the award to be given to the scientist who carries out high-level R&D studies in the field of solar energy technologies is the 2024 TURKISH PHYSICAL SOCIETY SMART SOLAR TECHNOLOGIES SPECIAL AWARD . The winner of the award is given by SMART GÜNEŞ ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES AR-GE ÜRETİM SAN. AND TRADE Inc. 50,000.-TL to be given by In addition to the award amount, an award certificate will also be given by the Turkish Physical Society.
5- The name of the award that will be given to a person among those who have contributed to the promotion and popularization of physical science and raising awareness in society in the field of science and technology, starting from 2012; TURKISH PHYSICAL SOCIETY SPECIAL HONOR AWARD .

The name of the award to be given to a person who is not a physicist is TURKISH PHYSICAL SOCIETY PUBLIC PRIVATE HONOR AWARD .

With a decision taken in 2019, the name of the award to be given to a Turkish or foreign person among those who have made a significant contribution to the rise of our country to the international scientific platform and the development of technology by creating scientific vitality by bringing together exemplary and pioneering scientists with their scientific studies from home and abroad with young physicists, is TURKISH PHYSICAL ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL. It is a SPECIAL HONOR AWARD .

With a decision taken by the Board of Directors of the Turkish Physical Society, starting from 2023, TURKISH PHYSICAL ASSOCIATION ARTIST SPECIAL HONOR will be given to an artist who will raise social awareness on basic sciences, science and technology literacy based on physical science with his works, discourses and actions , and who is sensitive to social events and all kinds of disasters. It has been decided to give the AWARD .
6- Awarded in memory of the late Boğaziçi University PhD student Research Assistant Özgen Berkol Doğan, who we lost in a tragic plane crash in 2007. Its name is TURKISH PHYSICAL SOCIETY 2023 ÖZGEN BERKOL DOĞAN BEST EXPERIMENTAL POSTER PRESENTATION AWARD .
7- Awarded in memory of the late Boğaziçi University graduate student Engin ABAT, who we lost in a tragic plane crash in 2007. Its name is TURKISH PHYSICAL SOCIETY 2023 ENGİN ABAT BEST THEORETICAL POSTER PRESENTATION AWARD .
The winners of the award will be given a plaque and award certificate by the Turkish Physics Association.
NOTE: Applications can be submitted by the Secretary of the Turkish Physical Society Prof. Dr. Lidya SUSAM until June 15, 2024. Application files sent to lidyamon@istanbul.edu.tr , containing the reasoned application letter, the candidate's CV and the publication list, will be examined and decided by the Scientific Board of the Turkish Physical Society. Awards will be presented by the Turkish Physical Society, 2-6 September 2024 The 40th International Physics Congress of the Turkish Physical Society will be held in Bodrum between 2 September 2024. 09:00 on in at the opening ceremony will be presented.
